We’re post-election angry, so what are we going to do about it?

This ANGER, FEAR, AND OUTRAGE is about the message sent by the election of a candidate that ran on a platform of hate, violence, fear, and disrespect to a large portion of the country and the world.

Many people are angry ( it’s a perfectly natural and reasonable reaction), because what has happened  and is happening in the wake of the election is in many ways unthinkable.  Elections happen and this is not about winning and losing, this ANGER, FEAR, AND OUTRAGE is about the message sent by the election of a candidate that ran on a platform of hate, violence, fear, and disrespect to a large portion of the country and the world.

The thing is, we are not typically taught how to deal with our emotions (particularly ANGER, FEAR, GUILT, AND SHAME) in  healthy, productive, and powerful ways.  My awareness of and personal experience with this and the impact it had on my  health and well-being has led me to study and learn what to do about it.

Otherwise it will get stuck and it will eventually kill us through diseases such as cancer, depression, autoimmune disorders, hypertension, diabetes etc…

TOOLS & TECHNIQUES

1. Flower Essences

Personally, I have been diffusing all of these blends and applying them topically (If you buy an essential oil blend be sure to dilute it with a carrier oil.  Concentrated oils should NOT be applied directly to the skin).  I use essential as part of my general well-being regimen but these three have been in heavy rotation since Tuesday!

mediation3. Meditation.

You’re angry, understandably so, but if you just remain angry you’ll just be mad. Use meditation to ask yourself and/or God what you can do, what steps are there to take to heal this situation and bring love and light into the world. Try to do this at least 15 minutes aday perhaps while diffusing the Core Balancing Blend oil and then Journal afterwards.  Here is a great  Breathing & Meditation Exercise for Anxiety!

 

 

As a result of my meditating on “What can I do to transmute this anger and help heal myself and my people?”  I was inspired to write this article!!

Journaling is a powerful way to release emotions. If you don’t have anyone to talk to you about something, or perhaps people are tired of listening to you vent, journaling is another way to get it out of your head and out of your body and to release it.  Whether you journal after meditation or just to get it our your mind, this a great technique.  I have been journaling for years. I think this practice is what helped me maintain my overall health for years and stopping it was partially cause of my personal health challenges.

5. Have some  FUN!!!

Times like this is why it is IMPORTANT to have some hobbies and interests that bring you joy.  I personally will probably go out dancing, maybe see a movie, and take time to escape into a good novel a little more.  We need to take out minds off things for a way and infuse some joy and happiness into our lives.  I caution against chemically induced euphoria such as drinking and/or drugs, but instead find some natural ways to release some endorphins.  Maybe a massage and don’t forget GREAT SEX is a wonderful stress reliever!  #teamorgasm.

I hope some of these tips & tools help.
